NextUp Launcher — Effective 2026-05-18

This Privacy Policy explains how Glacira ("we", "us", the "Service Provider") handles information in connection with the NextUp Launcher Android app ("NextUp", the "Application"), package com.glacira.nextup. NextUp is a free, ad-supported home-screen launcher. By installing and using NextUp you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information NextUp Accesses and Collects

Installed apps and app usage

As a home-screen launcher, NextUp reads the list of apps installed on your device so it can display, organize, and launch them. To generate matching themed icons, the package names of your installed apps are sent to our backend (hosted on Google Firebase) so the corresponding themed icon can be produced and returned. NextUp may also read app-usage statistics (with your permission) to sort and suggest apps. We do not sell your installed-app list or app-usage data.

Health and fitness data (Health Connect)

Granting Health Connect access is entirely optional — NextUp works fully without it. You can revoke this access at any time in the Health Connect settings on your device, and the Activity card will simply stop showing steps. Our use of Health Connect data complies with the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its limited-use requirements.

Calendar

If you grant the calendar permission, NextUp reads upcoming events from your device's calendar to show your next event on the optional Calendar glance card. Calendar data is read and displayed on your device only and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

Notifications

If you enable NextUp's notification access, NextUp reads on-device notifications to display notification badges on app icons and to surface glance information (for example, weather details posted by a weather app). Notification content is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

Device, log, and diagnostic information

When you use NextUp we, and our analytics and crash-reporting providers, collect technical information such as your device model, operating-system version, app version, language/locale, IP address, a randomly generated app-install identifier, session information, in-app events, and crash and performance diagnostics. This is used to operate the app, fix bugs, understand feature usage, and improve NextUp.

Advertising identifier

NextUp is ad-supported. We and our advertising partners access your device's Advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device's Google settings ("Ads").

Approximate location

NextUp does not request the Android location permission and does not collect GPS or precise location. Our service providers may infer a coarse, city-level location from your IP address for ad delivery and analytics, as is standard for internet services.

Purchases

If you buy a premium upgrade, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred but do not receive or store your payment-card details.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide core launcher functionality — displaying, organizing, theming, and launching your apps.
• To display optional glance cards (Activity/steps, Calendar, Weather, and similar).
• To generate themed icons for your installed apps.
• To deliver the in-app content feed.
• To serve and measure advertising.
• To analyze usage, diagnose crashes, and improve the app.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. Your Health Connect data is never shared with anyone. Other information may be processed by the third-party service providers below, each under its own privacy policy:

• Google Play Services
• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and our backend for themed icons and the content feed)
• Google AdMob and ad-network mediation partners (including Meta Audience Network and Unity LevelPlay/ironSource)
• Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK, for analytics and ad attribution)
• AppsFlyer (mobile attribution and analytics)

We may also disclose information if required by law (for example, to comply with a subpoena or legal process), or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect rights, safety, or to investigate fraud.

4. Children

NextUp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at GlaciraLLC@gmail.com and we will delete it.

5. Data Retention

Diagnostic, analytics, and themed-icon data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above and is subject to the retention practices of the providers listed in Section 3. Health Connect data is not retained — it is read live and discarded after display. To request deletion of data associated with your install, email GlaciraLLC@gmail.com.

6. Security

We use reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process. Data transmitted to our backend is sent over encrypted connections.

7. Your Choices

• Health Connect, calendar, notification, and usage-stats access are all optional — grant or revoke them at any time in your device settings.
• Reset or limit ad personalization via your device's Google "Ads" settings.
• Stop all collection by uninstalling NextUp.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of NextUp after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
